Since throwing in the towel at the last company I was with,(IT support) i've been looking for a new job over the last few weeks and so far haven't really had any real interviews apart from many invited from recruitment agencies asking me to "come in and register"
I've seen a few but there's some I just couldn't be bothered with because they were too far away or too vague. Believe me when I tell that recruitment agencies are only in it for themselves! they see you as a number! a pound sign to help them attain their commission! they are sales people with an agenda! they don't really care about finding you the right job or putting in a tangible effort into finding you one but they will entice you to come in and see them.
All logic of timing and distance goes out the window when they request you to register. You could be living in London and if they are in another county they will still ask you to register! Unfortunately if you do decide to bite the bullet and go into see them, more often than not the job you applied for will have mysteriously now be already filled :-( wasted journey.
I had the mispleasure of going to an agency in Chatham (the word Chav is derived from this place btw) a few weeks ago and armed up my road map, managed to get to the main town centre in which they were based but the morons couldn't direct me to them when I phoned up so I told them to stuff it and I went home. I do usually have an abundunce of patience but on this occasion I kinda lost the will to live and felt my day was better served by being snuggled up in my nice warm bed rather than out in chav central looking for a job that probably doesn't even exist. Oh yes recruitment agencies make up jobs just to get willing victims to send them their cv's. That's why you will see the same jobs advertised by the same agencies over a period of several months. It really is pathetic...well not really I suppose because its just devious gits doing what devious gits do to generate more registrations.
